I am deeply ashamed of this government's treatment of refugees.

Just watched the inspirational president Zelensky's address to the UK Parliament . He quoted Churchill,  and Shakespeare,  very cleverly. Said they will fight to the end just as we did in WW2

"We will not invest any further capital into the country nor will we profit from our presence in Russia," said CEO Alan Jope in a statement on Tuesday. But Unilever will "continue to supply our everyday essential food and hygiene products made in Russia to people in the country", he said. The company owns several household brands, including Axe, Ben & Jerry's and Dove."

The last thing that we want is Russian agents in the country pretending to be Ukrainian refugees the last two that came in were proved to be idiots and were named and shamed pretty quickly making Vlad look stupid in the process but even so they managed to cause death and destruction. As the refugees are safe in Poland at the moment I'm sure waiting a few days to be processed won't be so bad considering the awful situation that they have just escaped from.

Child spies. I don't think so.
Many of the refugees are skilled workers. Even if they only stayed here for a few years, they could help to alleviate our post brexit skill shortage.

Has anyone pondered the difference between the speed the Taliban took over Afghanistan, with seemingly no effort compared to the fight the Ukrainians are putting up against Russia?

Speaking at his press conference, Sergei Lavrov says of Russia's economic problems: "We will cope with them - we have coped with difficulties at all junctures of our history."

He says Russia will "come out of the crisis with a better psychology and conscience".

Doesn't seem to be working so far😒
