With the amount of support shown by the international community, I don't see how Putin can win this one. What's concerning is what he'll do when he knows he's lost. He doesn't strike me as the type who tucks his tail between his legs and quietly crawls home, he's more the scorched earth type who'll push the button out of spite.
He's gone mad, he's making no sense at all. Threatening a country with nuclear weapons when that country gave them up 20 years ago, and complaining that NATO has been using hurty words about him when he's marched 100s of thousands soldiers complete with tanks into a peaceful sovereign country. It's too diabolical for words,
Here’s hoping the Russians see sense and take him down before he does something even worse. As you say he’s lost it - from all reports even his own generals didn’t expect that this invasion would happen.
I think something like this helps us to count our blessings as we go about our daily lives. But our freedom is not something we should take for granted - we have to keep working on it and protesting every time our government tries to take our freedoms away.

Mad indeed. If he nukes Ukraine the fallout would probably find its way back into Russia, render Ukraine's bread-basket crop potential useless for years to come. The original blast would probably kill many of his own troops.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
The man who wrote his biography, forget his name says he's bad not mad. You can't avoid it,but when I read something horrible/upsetting it can play on my mind for weeks/months/years keeping me awake. I sat down in front of the TV the other night and wondered if I actually wanted to stay in this world,so am going to try and avoid oversaturation because of my own mental health. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who depend on me.
C'mon. The world goes through these phases. Scary as they seem, it's about the people eh?
It's not just the people who 'depend' on you NB, they love you. You love them. Keep that in mind. That is what it's about. Think on all the positive things - no matter how small. Just that view of the Downs on a sunny day. The view into your garden and the pleasure you get from it... And to crown all that you have people around you who care.
Yes,it is about the people. I'm an expert at being able to put myself in their shoes. I've always been the "go to" 4 kids,2 disabled through serious mental health issues When ever there's a problem,it's good old mum. I watched Kate Garraways program, she went to visit my oldest daughter's friend Julie. I know what it's like caring for someone in Derek's situation, she has carers, one of them said he hoped she was caring for herself. I went to home after my shift, that IS her shift/home. I know a lot of people on here, don't read the papers or watch the news, I can see why.
"They **** you up, your mum and dad" is the phrase, @pansyface.
I agree with you. You need to look after yourself @Nanny Beach. Your dependants will soon find out how much you're coddling them if you're suddenly not able to do it all the time. I know it isn't possible for every scenario, but try and get some solace for you
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
