Biglad, I love the activities of blackbirds at this time of year. I have one who takes a bath every day in the bird bath outside my front window and boy does he give it some effort. I have to top up the bath afterwards. He then shoots off to find a perch and start singing. Errrrm 'Shouldn't be too much grief as its only a kids game'! I would love a £1 for every time the Head of P.E. had to deal with stroppy and foul mouthed fathers whilst he reffed Saturday school matches. It got pretty heated at times.
Debs, I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of Graham trundling around in the grounds of his summer apartment
Ruby, I bet, like Debs you are going to be busy in your garden. That is my plan for today.

Morning everyone, @Ante30 hope you're able to see your Dad. Safe journey. @Biglad good to see you. Enjoy Raaf duties. @debs64 hope you have a good day at work. Little fountain for Graham sounds lovely. @Busy-Lizzie hope you feel better this morning. It's sunny here too. Its eldest son's birthday today, so we will be going to see him later this morning. Have a good day everyone, see you later.
Morning all. A bit more sorting then I'm heading outside to split some alcoholic mollies ready to edge the old box hedge border. It looks nice and sunny but is also a tad breezy - not as mild as yesterday. Must be spring though - OH has been wearing shorts for the last 3 days😎
Enjoy Raaf duties @Biglad - I thought the same as LB about 'enthusiastic' parents but it sounds as though they won't be too much of a problem!
Have a good Saturday everyone
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
What a gorgeous day . Been outside for a couple of hours in for a cuppa .My perennial geraniums have gone rogue . Been potting some up for friends .I hope everyone is enjoying their day .
It's a fine day here too, mild and sunny but the sky is a bit hazy.
I slept badly, not what I was expecting back in my own bed, then OH rang this morning to say there had been a full moon.
I keep meaning to go out and do some gardening but I feel so tired. I went out earlier to post Daughter 1's birthday card, buy some potting compost, wash the Sahara dust off the car and fill up with diesel - ouch!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Afternoon all, Hope everyone is getting the same weather as we are, it's lovely outside. Helped Hubby put a shelf up this morning for my cookery books as I've moved them from the kitchen into the conservatory. Have been out in the garden for the rest of the day. Removed a rhododendron, I moved it a couple of years ago and it never appreciated being disturbed and hasn't flowered since. Also did some weeding and ivy clearing at the top of the garden. Another couple of sessions and I should be able to spread my farmhouse manure. Sounds like everyone is busy today.
Hi all. I'm a bit behind your news, so will just say I hope the sunshine is doing everyone the power of good, whatever tasks are achieved today. I've pottered a little in the garden, mainly looking at my potted plants- watering here and there because the sun and wind do dry things out, I think. I'm sending healing vibes to the not so well and strugglers amongst us. x
Good afternoon everyone. What a super day. At last the sun has stayed longer than one day. Have thoroughly enjoyed pottering today. I even had to water my pots Chive - hope that hasn't put the kiss of death on tomorrow for you Debs!
For SGL's son:
Phew Biglad, that certainly will make a difference. Some of our parents were banned from the touchline - often by their own children who were mortified at the behaviour.
Busy, some of your tiredness must be from baby sitting Adam. Hope you feel more like yourself tomorrow. The full moon has been truly beautiful these last two nights.
T'Bird - I've said this before I know but my postie wears shorts all year round.I positively shiver in the winter just watching him.
I've ordered some more bog loving plants for my back garden - two types of Trollius and later on this year I want to get some snakes head fritillaries as they like wet conditions too. Got the rhubarb I pulled yesterday stewed ready for making a crumble tomorrow and now I'm going to hug a mug as I am finished in the garden for today.
Good to see you Janet, you'll soon catch up with the gossip!
