    Evening all,

Who knew planting 2 apple trees could be so much hard work :o

A couple of inches below the lawn surface was a layer of slate chippings/gravel so I was on my hands and knees picking all that out bit by bit. There was a membrane beneath that and some old roots below that (god knows what from). The second designated hole site had a paving stone below the gravel. Beneath that paving stone was another. Then another and I stopped pulling them out of the ground after the next one :( Anyway, 4 hours later both trees were in and I could look forward to being unable to get out of bed tomorrow morning. Could be interesting as I got a call this afternoon asking if I could run-around-a-field on Saturday afternoon ;)

  • Evening everyone,
LB Great video 😂 Pleased you made it to Canasta, sorry about the bus journey home though what numpties! Thank you for the Scam warning, it’s so easy to be fooled by these links. Yes the Eryngiums I bought came from ‘Sco, 👍
Rubee Great news about Bruno excellent to hear he is in good health, good luck with giving him those last antibiotics,
Hazel Glad you felt better for having a haircut, nice to see your daughter on the way home I hope she is keeping well,
Janet I’m pleased to hear the bees like those Sea Hollys, I try to plant for the wildlife,
Bluebells I’m glad you caught up on some sleep today hope tonight is better for you, must confess I had a doze on the couch this evening,
SGL Sorry to hear you are having phone problems, such a nuisance when they start to play up 😔 hope the power has stayed on tonight,
Biglad Sounds hard going digging those holes today, hope you’re not out of action tomorrow,
Bisy Glad you had a nice lunch out, I know that feeling after a good meal 😴
Saying Goodnight now, hope Ante is ok.
  • Good morning all.  A chilly night.  LB thank you for the Peter Egan video, very funny.  I hope all slept. Time for tea.
  • Hello all … we have a sunny Saturday 🌞
Anyone got any silver polish? I seem to have put an empty one back in the cupboard and now the sun is shining I can see that the silver is in desperate need of a good seeing to.
Have a good weekend everyone. 😊

Good morning Happy saturday images Snoopy quotes Snoopy pictures
Good morning RosieBB, Dove and all to arrive later.
Yes, Busy, I am another Liz It sounds like you have a had a nice, special day yesterday.
Biglad, I was positively exhausted just reading about what you had to contend with planting the apple trees for your sister. You'll have muscles on your spit at this rate! At least it looks fine for running around the field duties this afternoon. There was a definite red sky here though.
SGL, its funny you mentioning phones as my friend who I used to take to Canasta has asked me to help her get a new one organised for her. She knows I'm a geekess! She can't get out these days so next Wednesday I'm roped in to get it all sorted for her.
Glad you enjoyed the Peter Egan video, it always makes me smile. Makes me think 'been there, done that, got the tee shirt' for certain elements of that story.

Good morning all. Off to work in a bit for a full day. Sunny but cold. Taking in some rhubarb for a colleague that I dug up from the allotment. Hope it does well for her. Probably not the best time to move it but needs must.
Graham is awake! Not eating yet but had a warm bath and is stomping around the house then falling asleep under things like a typical toddler! He is only 7 so I suppose I can’t expect mature behaviour yet. Trevor was a dignified older gentleman although often grumpy.
Hope you all have a good Saturday

Morning Ruby and Debs. Debs I was just wondering about Graham the other day. Looking forward to hearing tales about him. Hope that work is not too stressful today for you.
