    Morning all.

    There was a strong wind in the night. The sky is grey.

    There were tears this morning when Mummy left for work but he's OK now.

    I've been up a lot in the night, bad tummy.

    Morning all. A nice sunny day here but not sure I can take much advantage of it as I have a dental check up this pm and will go to SM and artist supply shop while I'm in town.

    SGL - we had that Saharan dust here yesterday. A really eerie light all day and then after the rain everything has been left covered in a brown film. Very annoying as OH spent hours washing his camper and the white m/home last weekend and they both look really grubby again now.

    LB - sounds like you're going to be juggling furniture when you get back from Bestie's.

    Debs - hope the family enjoys the races. We were holidaying in Ireland the week before Cheltenham some years ago and there were so many TV programmes building up to it. Clearly an important event for the Irish. Don't understand the passion myself although, having lived in York and now close to Newmarket, we have been a few times - but mainly when there's been a post-meeting concert or similar to enjoy.

    Hazel - Can completely understand your fear of the sea. I grew up on the coast and always had a very healthy respect for the sea and the dangers therein. I used to love sea swims until I got an ear infection and a dicky tummy after a session in Cornwall - there are a few too many sewage outlets around the UK for my liking.🤢 However, on a hot day I'd still be enticed by the still, warm-ish clear blue seas (where you can see what's in the water!) when we've been sailing abroad.

    Chive - hope you enjoy your family time.

    @Cheyngel - Happy Birthday!🥳🎂🍰🥳

    Good afternoon everyone. I hope that you have all had a good day. Had a nice time with Bestie. Her garden (the real bit) is looking very healthy and floriferous. We knitted and nattered and when I was heading for home she gave me a big crown of rhubarb from her Mum's garden. That will go in the raised bed alongside my rhubarb plant.
    T'Bird, one piece of the furniture is a small, four drawer chest and I'm thinking of using it as the TV stand in my front room. The TV stands on a large sound system piece which I want to get rid of. Its rather large and I would prefer something smaller. I haven't 100% decided yet but am moving in that direction. BTW, you have convinced me with your post that I am not being completely paranoid about 'nasties' in sea water.

    LB - I grew up in Gt Yarmouth. Holidaymakers came to sit on the beach and swim in the sea. We locals did the same. In the summer holidays we went everyday it wasn't raining.

    A few days each year we'd be aware of rather brown areas of sea water and distinctly slimy areas of sand underfoot. It wasn't until I was much older that I realised these areas were down current of the sewage outlets🤢 and we were literally swimming and paddling through💩

    This was, of course, all before the introduction of blue flag beaches.

    T'Bird, I remember holidays in the Sheringham/West Runton areas where it was possible to see gatherings of seagulls around the brownish coloured outfalls from pipes leading from the land. This was back in the 90's though so maybe they have cleaned up their act so to speak. I did not go into the sea then for obvious reasons.
