If we're not allowed to mention c*ts, then enough about d*gs,  OK. 😠

Are you feeling curmudgeonly about them? 😉

Nearly always,  though it's not always the animals but their selfish,  irresponsible owners that is the main problem.

@B3 that barrier is quite high so no bending and not a lot of splashing if you're careful.   I think it's great, especially if your dog is too old or too big to get in the bath or shower at home.

I remember the joys of pruning and washing our poodle cross's bum when I'd forgotten to do basic maintenance - if you know what I mean. She would sit in the middle of the floor looking guilty and refusing to move when I was really the guilty party😕
One of those things would've been perfect if it was a drive to your house job. Now there's an idea for a business. Uber dog wash .🤔

There are dog washes in NZ and I thought what a great idea for a young person to start up a business. @B3    I'm sure they would be very popular !!

We haven't got pets now but I'd have used a mobile washer when we had a dog. Another fond memory is when one ki**en had diarrhoea and the other one stepped in it. It had been very stand offish but pragmatically decided that perhaps humans had their uses.

We have a set of doggytowels by the annex door for cleaning them up if they get wet but after very mucky walks in Belgium - rural and lots of rain -I'd hose our pair down outside the garage but they're too old for the cold water blast now.   Rasta goes to the hairdresser every 2 months for a shampoo and trim and, very occasionally, gets a warm shampoo and shower chez nous.   Bonzo needs them a lot less frequently.

There are mobile doggy hairdressers here - usually recently trained people without the wherewithal to set up in fixed premises.  It's great for those who can't get their dog in a car or bus.

I am pretty much in that camp with you.  🙂

Really fed up my local amenity tip has just introduced appt only visits.  😡  You need to show a booking on a smartphone or printed out.  As I have neither a smartphone nor a printer, I will be writing it on a piece of paper and that will have to be good enough.

Our local tip is appointment only but you have to provide the car registration number.  A member of staff has the stressful job of sitting in a hut and waving cars in once they are checked off his list.  Terribly hard life some people lead.

Here you apply to the local council for a pass card that gets scanned by a machine at the entry.  It allows 26 visits a year to one of 3 recycling centres.   Works well.
