We have literally dozens of coasters so I would just use one of them.

We do have lots of coasters, but not many I think would work well. Some are ceramic, and would break if they fell. Others are fake leather, and wouldn’t be happy with condensation. Am I the only one who occasionally puts a damp glass on a coaster, and then finds the coaster stuck to the bottom of the glass? I’ve lost a couple of the ceramic ones when they then detach themselves and break!

It drives me nuts when people clearly don't bother to read posts before replying to them.  I comments on a local group about the new label provided for our green waste bin not sticking properly.  One person came back with the suggestion that maybe they aren't issuing labels this year!!  How the **** am I having problems with a label which hasn't been provided???
  • Non Refuse Collection. Phone call No 5.
The council office have now asked me to wait another week to see if my rubbish is collected. Their notes claim someone called at 9.05 am during the week, so why didn't they take my rubbish?
When I asked about making an officual complaint I was told they would get in touch with me and might decide they cannot collect from my address. Really?!

Sounds as though that's what they're already doing, @Joyce Goldenlily
This is so often the problem when councils sub-contract the work. The sub-contractor says they were there and your rubbish wasn't. You say they didn't come. Who do they believe?
So they threaten the small fry, and you lose the service you are paying for.
I'm so sorry this is happening to you.

    Approach your MP?
    Approach the local paper?
  • Grrr!!
Tried to renew my long-standing prescription today. The pharmacist tells me there is a supply issue, and to try elsewhere. The other pharmacy in the village said the same, as did ones in local towns, and even the one who always was reliable.

Checked online, and there is indeed a supply issue in Europe.

The GP practice unhelpfully suggested taking a different medication. Er, definitely not!

My hospital has helpfully offered to try and release some of their emergency stock, but even that won't last long.

    Humph!!
