I was approaching a zebra crossing earlier today and noticed the driver heading towards me was on his phone. He then pulled up on the crossing to have his conversation, completely blocking it. Why is there never a copper around when you need one?
I saw a video recently where someone pulled out of a junction in front of a motorbike and then just stopped blocking the lane for no reason. The motorcyclist opened the back door of the car and rode off giggling like a little kid.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Does anyone else ignore next door posts?. I'm sure I opted out but I still get messages. I don't want to know who's had their house or car broken into. The misery on the national/ international news is enough without hearing about what's happening around the corner.. I want to stick my head in the heavy London clay and ignore it.
@Dovefromabove Funnily enough I usually give the site a whirl maybe once a week just out of interest. Yesterday I needed to order hearing aid batteries, only done this once before and despite looking v. hard couldn't find the clinic's letter with all the relevent details. Gave up and went on the Neighbourhood site and found a post asking about batteries with 30-40 replies. This morning I popped in the health clinic ( and the library) which is only 5 mins away. (OH said I was daft for losing the letter-as if I'd done it on purpose).
Breaking the rules again I was listening to a thing on the radio yesterday about a new law that is being proposed to target pet thieves with stronger sentencing. Great idea for dogs but the radio show was more interested in how it applies to cats. The new law would make it illegal for someone to entice a cat away from its owner's care. Someone talked about how their neighbour was allowing their cat into their house and feeding it. They seemed outraged that this person was 'stealing' their cat by looking after it while they'd shoved it out the door to amuse itself. It seemed to me that making cat theft legal might induce owners to look after their pets better and be more responsible. It also sounded like providing a garden full of tasty wildlife and toilet facilities might actually constitute breaking the law by being attractive to cats.
