Next door to me is a chihuahua who barks constantly when outside. I cannot go into my garden without it barking at the fence at me. When the owners are out, it is inside. It does not go anywhere, and just gets yelled out to sh***t up - poor thing. I talk to it quietly and say - it' s just me, I'm digging my veggie patch ..... I'd like to wring its manky neck! And I like animals!
@Ergates I wish it was a case of him struggling, but everybody who knows him or has ever worked with him has the same opinion of him. That is not a good opinion. When even his children say they will have no reason to visit once their mother dies is probably the most telling.
How desperately sad, @KT53. Shame he isn’t the one to go first. I’m sure her friends and family won’t let him spoil their time with her, and then he’s on his own.
Progress? At last, almost 3 months down the line, and 5 telephone calls later, the Council has made a formal complaint to Biffa about my noncollection of refuse. My application for Assisted Collection is in place and my wheelie bin and recycling bags are full. I received an email from Biffa this morning saying they are looking into the matter, also an apology. We shall see. One tiny step for mankind!

That is really annoying ... and probably not a habit it will grow out of. 😡
When we lived in Harrow the couple next door had a dog they left alone all day while they went to work. Hubby would come every lunchtime to le it out in the garden.
It was only when I was home because of illness that I discovered the poor thing howled all day because it had separation anxiety. As it got older it expressed its anxiety by peeing on their bed.
Our pair are only left alone when we do the weekly shop and are then given a treat to chew and are confined to the dining room and kitchen. If we do have to leave them all day they get marrow bones to chew and access to the annex and their cages too. No problems so far and no close neighbours to annoy if they do howl.
