@Joyce Goldenlily they do seem to prefer toys with a loud squeak.  My cousin had a Border Collie and if he thought she was spending too long on the phone he would get the loudest he could find, stand in the doorway and squeak for all he was worth.  Bright dog!
  • My dog really likes toys with long legs and arms and little bits sticking out like ears so he can hold them and thrash the toy around, if they squeak so much the better. When I have visitors and we are chatting and taking no notice of him he will bring one of his toys and try to make one of us play with him. He also knows which of the regular dog walkers give treats, he ignores those who do not!
I feel he is almost too bright for his own good.

It's probably a good thing we can't discuss politics today. I feel like banging heads together.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

My considered advice would be for them to stick their head in a bucket and kick it.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

As usual … it’s all about themselves and not the problems that need fixing.

Seeing as you’re waiting in @Allotment Boy, would you be kind enough to take delivery of our new pillows from John Lewis?  They’re coming between 3 and 5 but I’ve got to go out at 2:40 to pick OH up from work … they’re bound to come while I’m out … 🙏

They did … of course … but thankfully my son was just arriving home as the van drew up … as you were @Allotment Boy 👍

The chairs did come, over an hour late. Glad they hadn't picked the others up before,  as we were able to keep the best two from the four. One new one only had a tiny mark on it but now we have two perfect ones. Glad you got the pillows @Dovefromabove .

  • At last, I have had both my recycling and wheelie bin emptied. Biffa has put me onto a different vehicle collection because of the location of my cottage. Which means the gand are not prepared to come on foot to collect it. The 3 cottages have been lugging our refuse up the lane for them for the past 20 odd years!  I dare not suggest they collect my two neighbour]s refuse at the same time.
A small success for a grumpy, persistent old moo! Yeah!
