    @Lyn The French are striking over plans to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64.  Transport and utility workers and bin men and women out on strike and protest marches too.

    I was taken out for a meal to a very nice restaurant this evening and the meal was spoilt by two badly behaved children who were allowed to run riot, scream and shout, play about with cutlery and glasses on their table and be most unruly whilst their two mothers did absolutely nothing to keep them under control.
    Believe me I was very curmudgeonly.

    Actually, I prefer cats to dogs. Maybe it's because we had cats as children.

    And my parents were always keen gardeners too. 

    Our cats were well disciplined and friendly. Yes, they killed the odd mouse or six, but never evil.

    I know,  but they all got over safely and are now going to get some sleep in Belgium.
