Air rifles are legal but you have to ensure that the pellet doesn't leave the property upon which you are shooting. You can shoot grey squiggles as they are classed as vermin.
My sister called them squeals when she was little.
Poor little things. There are loads in my garden. I think they're cute and funny. They haven't done much damage, though one did steal a heuchera. The squirrel was sitting on the lawn eating the root and ran away with the plant. NDN feeds them so maybe that's why they don't do much damage. Why do we feed birds and not squirrels?
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
If you want to know what's wrong with grey squirrels: ask a red squirrel. IF you can find one. An introduced , alien, invasive pest which should be eradicated.
The map of Ireland is interesting. I heard that 12 greys were released at a country house wedding . It's clear to see where that was and how quickly they've spread , driving out the reds.
Probably because grey squirrels are classed as vermin in the same way rats are. I don't deliberately feed rats either. The fact that grey squirrels look more cuddly than rats doesn't change what they are.
When there is a queue to be served in a cafe why can't people make up their minds what they want before actually being served. I was in one today where the food is all on display before reaching the till point, but neither family ahead of me looked at the food before they were actually being served. One lot even had to call the kids across from where they were seated to find out what they wanted.
@Jenny_Aster It's like being at the bar in a pub behind 'Anna'. You know, they are getting half a dozen drinks but instead of giving the barman/woman the whole order they request one drink and when that arrives they 'Anna large...'. Then when that arrives 'Anna.....'
My local council emailed me to the effect of: "Be a cleaver bunny about recycling this easter". What now? Bunny with an axe? How can people not even check typos? Doesn't education happen anymore?
