I know how they feel. Often there are delays on English motorways when you are dying for the next service station. French service stations are much better spaced and there are signs telling you how far they are and whether they are simple ones with car park and loo or bigger ones with restaurant and petrol. I never see those orange filled bottles in France.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I didn't see a lorry but he could have used the toilets up in Asda if he knew the area better. He probably saw the shop and thought they'd have facilities.
There's plenty of orange squash bottles on the roads around here. Lorry drivers really need to hydrate more is all I can say. It must be one of the worst things for the litter pickers to have to deal with.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

It's not pleasant ... I knew someone who spent a summer doing that a few years ago ... horrendous job. Decomposing deer and badgers aren't great either ...

There was a programme recently about the Highways Agency and that showed the guys 'litter picking' at the side of the motorway. They mentioned the bottles of orange liquid but said that wasn't as bad as split bags of 'the other stuff'.
I've been gradually clearing the local woods of rubbish over the winter while the undergrowth is all dead and you can see things that are normally hidden. The worst thing I find are beer cans that have basically acted as slug traps.

Got up, looked at the weather forecaster, noticed the temp was up and thought goody, looked through the window -and it was raining! Gardening hopes all dashed in an instant.

It's been so overcast and dull here I've had the lights on all morning ... the only birds who've thought it was worthwhile appearing were a few seagulls and a magpie ... hardly anything else came into the garden during my hour of counting. Yesterday we had blackbirds, bluetits, great tits, dunnocks and a wren ... duh ... as soon as they see me with a pad and pencil they scoot off elsewhere ...

Drizzling hard here and looks as though it's set in for the day.
