I've just had to sweep up fallen needles from the Christmas Tree. I wouldn't mind so much but it's an artificial one!

Our doctors surgery, having 2 days off at Christmas and 2 days at NY, are now shut for 3 days in the middle of the week after, for a 'systems upgrade'!! Words fail me! Lights out - No appointments, prescriptions etc.
Back in the day, when I was in IT, we did all the upgrades over a weekend with paper procedures in place for urgent stuff that needed to done in that time (factories run 24 hours/7 days). We worked right round the clock over the weekend to hit the deadline of 6am Monday morning. Why can't they do it on the weekend, or does no-one want to put in the effort these days? makes me hopping mad!
And what are the chances that everything is back working on the Friday????

@hogweed It took our surgery nearly 3 weeks to implement a new system, with total chaos during that time.  The new system is now supposedly up and running by personal medical details which were available via the NHS app prior to the change are no longer available.  They are 'looking at ways to resolve the problem'.  As the same system has allegedly been rolled out to other surgeries in the area I would have expected bugs like that to be addressed by now.  I also spent over 30 years in IT support and if we had messed up like that we'd have been out the door.  I also spent the last few years of my working life in the Civil Service, not IT related, and not a single new system was implemented properly in the years I was there.  The providers of one system actually said to us that they weren't paid enough to do the job properly!  They tendered for the job so who's fault was that?
