    Just a thought @Hostafan,

Are there any car clubs nearby with electric vehicles available.
One operates around here and seems to be popular.

I drive an electric car and it's very easy to drive .... especially if you've ever driven an automatic.

I've not heard of anything. I think we're too remote / sparsely  populated for such a scheme.

We're very rural too .... but one of the local towns, Hawick, has an electric car club.

A guy just knocked the door and offered to wash my car without water. Apparently it's eco-friendly and saves 300L of water. It's probably not the best to advertise things like that when it's widdling it down outside and the water butts are overflowing. I don't think I've ever used more than a few watering cans to wash the car even when I can be bothered to do it. How dirty does a car need to be to need 300L of water?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

What's he doing it with then @wild edges?
Is he spitting on a cloth and rubbing it, the way mums used to do their weans' faces?  :D

I found this one, but it's more expensive than driving and paying for diesel

In Crawley fuel has hit around the £1.87 mark.

    talking of fuel.
Can I be curmudgeonly about the whole ".9p" thing that filling stations do?

    Not just petrol prices.  £1.99  ??  Call a spade a spade - £2 in anyone's language :D

I don't know who they think they're fooling with the .99p thing. It's nonsense.
The stupid thing is - think of all the extra money they'd make just by rounding it up.

That's why BHS did it. More for that crook to cream off from his dodgy empire... :|
