We didn't have a great deal of rain here, but it was enough to destroy a load of tulips which are now flat on the ground.

We managed to cut the container open to get the fig tree out  but it's too heavy to lift into the humongous container waiting for it. We're going to have to let it dry out a lot to lighten the load. Not ideal  but there's no way we could manage the up and over at the moment😕

Could you lay the pot on its side and slide the fig in?
  • B3B3 Posts: 27,505
No because we'd never get the container  back up on the bricks. There are drainage holes at the side of the base so maybe we could manage without the bricks. We'll see if it's getting any lighter tomorrow.
Thanks for suggestion @KT53 . That's probably what we'll end up doing.
One of those contraptions for lifting out car engines would be handy.

I'm sleeping with the windows open. I like to breathe cold fresh air and wrap up in a coccoon of duvet and throw.. One temperature regulating foot poking out.  I must have innuit genes or innate ecofriendship

I've only slept with the bedroom windows open about 5 times in 10 years.

5 of the best night's sleep, I'll warrant. But you wouldn't remember because you were having the best night's sleep.

no, I remember because those were the only nights warm enough to leave them open.

Those nights are when the biters come in for a bloodlust orgy. I have to keep my windows shut in the summer.
