Senior Citizen Activity Centre? Who came up with that ever-so-slightly patronising name? It sounds like something for toddlers. :/  (A spam post that will probably be removed before most people see this).

It probably dispenses Werther's Originals and other such clichés.

You can press various buttons to play singalong tunes. I'm sure there's a jigsaw puzzle too. And somewhere to keep your knitting

It does sound patronising.  In effect the needlework club I belong to is a collection of 34 women and one man, all but 2 of whom are aged 60 to 84.  Collectively we do patchwork, crochet, embroidery, knitting and make things from fabric and thread but outside of our Monday meetings we have members who manage local volunteer run  libraries, sing in choirs, do photography, rambling, cycling, gardening and, in the school hols, look after grandchildren.   All firing on all cylinders then.
