I see no reason why chaps should not be able to follow the wendy cope guide to ageing disgracefully too . I'm going to start on the sausages, I think .
I'm hopping mad. I've been eagerly watching my one and only delphinium spire come into bud but found this afternoon that a blasted slug had chewed the main stem just below the bud spike which has now keeled over. I only had the one.
Just pranged the car 1mph brush against a display sign while parking at the dentist - massive dent and scrape on the nearside. Previously that sign was a flexible plastic thing you could squeeze past but it has been replaced with an identical looking metal blade set into the tarmac. I have had the car for 20 years and that was my first bump in it.
I was approaching our local shops this afternoon when a woman reversed at speed out of a parking space. She hit a bollard behind her hard enough to partly uproot it, but didn't so much as get out to check, she simply drove off with a big dent in her rear bumper.
