You should be banned for using language like that, @Hostafan1. Makes Maggie look left wing.

    Unfortunately, you're right.
Says so much about tory members that she's favourite.
let's hope they pick her, because she'd never win a general election

    I'm worried she just might.
it comes to something, when her supporters are labelling Sunak, a Socialist.

My curmudgeon is from yesterday.  Typical , we have drought conditions I had been eekinig out the last  of the water in one of the waterbuts, for the plants that really need rainwater, when the flow stops.  I lifted the lid to be greeted by a foul smell, what should have been the last 20-30 litres of water was a revolting black slime. I swear something in there winked at me as bubbles of gas rose to the surface 🤪.
So I have had to drain and empty the sludge, & clean the tank. I now have no rainwater left, so it's tap or die for the plants for a while.  When the rain finally comes I know the moss will be flushed down off the roof and block the diverter. 😠

Fill your water butt or a smaller container from the tap and leave the lid off for a few days and the chlorine or whatever else is used in treatment will evaporate off which should be a bit kinder to those plants that don't like tap water.
It's the 'whatever else' that is more of a concern. Chloramine is used more frequently than chlorine now and it's much more difficult to remove than chlorine. Years of fish keeping made me paranoid about it. There's a map in the link below to see what chemical your area is treated with.

I caught the tail end of and interview with somebody from Thames Water on BBC Breakfast, where they were being questioned about the amount of water lost to leaks.  The woman being interviewed responded by saying people need to take action in their homes to stop water being wasted by toilet overflows!  Talk about not answering the question and passing the buck.  Maybe she will make a play for the job of Prime Minister.

Welsh Water are offering free cistern repairs to every household so I'm assuming it's an across the board target to save water.
My car is in the garage at the moment. I'm grumpy about the £1300 repair and service estimate. :s  I barely drive the bloody thing these days.

I'm grumpy about my service and repair bill too wild edges. Needed new brake discs and pads, service, oil etc, £684. What with that, car tax, insurance, breakdown cover and fuel I think I'll get a ruddy bike and be done with it. I jest of course, I'm far too old to be tootling about on a bike, just have to grin and bear it. Glad I haven't got your estimate though.

I think that now we are not working, it would be cheaper to get a taxi for the amount of times we use the car.  We go out once a month to our small town about a 1 mile round trip,  and very occasionally to see my daughter.
We are wedded to our cars though,  we like the independence,  our town started putting up signs around for car sharing to cut pollution,   No one took any notice  they’ve taken them all down now.
