Cost wise it hasn't been too bad. The door seal, thermostat, control board and heater were all replaced under warranty, I had to pay a callout charge when the thermostat wire severed because it was fitted incorrectly and then when it broke again I fixed it myself (properly). Now it's just the pump which is a fairly basic part to replace. In terms of lost time and raised blood pressure though it's been a bit more trying. :#
I was hoping this one would be out of nappies by now but he's having none of it so far. I thought with his brother to show him how it's done he would have picked it up more quickly. No such luck.

Your washing machine and Trigger’s broom eh @wild edges 😉

Another way of looking at things …

     1.  first find your most local and helpful repair man/woman …

    2.  purchase the brand he specialises in and carries spares for.

Our local Hotpoint repair man said that Indesit use the same parts as Hotpoint so we could choose either. 😎

Miele was recommended to us. Programs I actually use - never had that before!
Bosch lasted  well over 10 years but maybe they're not as careful as they were over a decade ago😒

Have you considered black bin liners and Duck Tape as an alternative to nappies?  You might want to use 2 bin liners for added strength.

It would probably go down as well as my idea to let him go free range in the garden until he works it out for himself :|

Probably the wrong time of year to try it , but I trained my daughter in a day. She wore those skin tight cycle shorts that were all the rage then - and no nappy. Garden essential! When she did her business, she was so disgusted that she used the potty ever after. She still had one at night for a while - just in case.

Possum absolutely refused to use a potty but, having seen a boy friend, 3 months older,  cliimbing on the loo and peeing in, facing the cistern, she happily copied him till she agreed it was more comfy facing the other way.

Washing machine all fixed. Instead of the drain pump that I thought I'd ordered, they've sent me the entire filter assembly with the drain and circulation pumps pre-fitted. That would explain why it was about twice as expensive as I'd thought but makes it very easy to replace and means I don't have to worry about either pump now.
