I can't get my head around signs that list destinations. It makes no sense to me that the town you come to first appears at the bottom of the list. Fine if the one on the top is a major town but not so much if you're not familiar with any of them.
Usually hitting Esc will clear any lists on the screen. Assuming you're not posting on a touch screen.
My grump of the day is an ongoing grump. I walk my oldest boy to school every morning and we pass the line of other parents' cars parked along the road. Every day on the way back I pick up some litter and either put it in the bin that's right by the cars or in my recycling bin. So many parents and kids drop litter from the cars, people put their Mcdonald's near the bin or just wedge the bag in the mouth of the bin so it stops other people using it until the birds yank it all out onto the floor, the recycling crews won't pick up anything that isn't in a bin so if a bottle is on the floor they leave it there, even if they were the ones who dropped it. I just wonder if people are so desensitised to litter now that they don't even see it? I pass one house with two immaculate, white and very expensive looking SUVs on the drive. They put their recycling out this morning but left the litter that's all over the drive and front garden.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
The name hasn't changed though. Everything in Wales is dual language but they've voted to prioritise the Welsh name.
As I read the report, Snowdon and Snowdonia will only be shown on signs etc with the Welsh version. My point is really more about an action being taken at the request of such a tiny proportion of the population. If another survey has 10,000 people voting for no signage to be in Welsh will that be taken just as seriously?
I ordered a new microwave oven from John Lewis on Tuesday. £5 discount promotional code, delivery "within 5 working days Mon-Sat", they sent confirmation of dispatch early hours of yesterday and a Royal Mail tracking code, so far so good. Except that Royal Mail's tracking service seems to be broken. Now we'll have to make sure there's someone in every day except Sunday until it turns up. At least their security "I'm not a robot" pictures are a bit different than some - click the pictures containing cupcakes, chocolate cake, pancakes, squirrels in trees, chickens on the beach, I kid you not.

I think it's come under a national policy to review place names and protect heritage. The petition was in frustration at the National Park Authority's refusal to take a stance on the matter but it was being considered already. It's been passed between committees and action groups for years with usual council efficiency. I think this one was controversial because it sounds like an English name but according to some historians it isn't. It's more of a re-branding than anything because of how popular it is as a tourist destination. A bit of controversy never hurts in viral advertising these days...

I always found the name Yr Wyddfa a bit morbid. That wouldn't put me off going up there again though, what does put me off is how busy it gets on a nice fine day. I've only been up there once and I probably won't again - it was a like the high street on a Saturday afternoon (arguably busier than our local high street).

If common sense prevails, probably a vain hope when politicians become involved, they will retain 'Snowdon' on signs too. How many foreign visitors will know of the name change? It certainly won't help tourism if people can't find the places they want to go.
