So much for cheap green energy https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/jun/16/queen-seabed-rights-swell-value-5bn-auction-windfarm-plots-crown-estate The way subsidies and leases are going it's going to costs us more to have 'free' energy than it did to use fossil fuels.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Join the club @Ben Cotto! On second thoughts it's not a joke for you is it, because of your wife's health so commiserations. Could she go and stay elsewhere for the duration?
    Hope you feel better soon.

I'm curmudgeonly today because our washing machine is throwing hissy fits. Sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't feel like it. It is about 15 years old so presumably beginning to wear out. Is it worth getting an engineer in to look at it? Not sure what the problem is.

It's too darn hot! as the song says.  44C in the shade at 6pm is going it a bit.   Nothing done since 11am when I finished checking the pots and also the water level in the old laundry tub in the veg plot.  I use it for dunking pots when potting on but 2 frogs have taken up residence now.

Hope you recover quickly @BenCotto and that your wife stays safe.

Given the costs of call out and repairs, let alone new parts @Lizzie27 I think it may be time to get a new machine.

It really is too hot @Obelixx, we went to water friends garden early this morning and have done nothing since.
Hope you start feeling better soon @BenCotto the numbers seem to be rising quickly here.

Yes @floralies.  I also went for an early blood test to confirm my blood group and platelets as it seems my 10 year old blood group card is out of date.   Has anyone ever changed blood group?

Then a quick pop to the pharmacy to collect my crutches, a raid on the local supermarket to see if they have any mustard - no - and then watering and flop.  It seems France has a perfect storm for mustard - the lack of exports of mustard seed from Canada thanks to climate change heatwaves, the lack of home-grown seed because they can't use neonicotinoids to protect the crop and a lack of oil from Ukraine.   Bingo!  Shelves empty.
