Yes - half brother. I think Brian [Connolly] was adopted as a baby, and reverted to his mother's name later when he found out. Mark McManus- the original Taggart

Speaking of Essex towns and the Guardian, the paper had one of my favourite ever headlines when reporting on a cutback in library services in the early 1970s: ‘Book lack in Ongar’.
I was in Edinburgh in the mid 90s and saw Brian Connolly being helped into a taxi. He looked terribly ill at that time. Sadly that must have been just a couple of years before his death.
Just opened the curtains in time to see said neighbour letting his dog p*** on my bin. I don't allow mine to do that on a walk, disgusting, lazy and now got to clean it!

14% of the British public thinks the Manchester Arena bombing might be fake. 14%! That’s 1 in 7. Pick out 20 regulars on this forum and three of them, statistically speaking, support this conspiracy theory.
I just cannot explain this. In the fairly wide reaching circle of people I know I would be almost certain that not one of them supports this preposterous lie. So where are the 14%? I’m baffled.
These online conspiracy theories are getting out of hand. Look at Alex Jones in the US. Ordered to pay $1bn in damages because of the conspiracies he's been peddling and yet he still carries on and people still follow him. Not a single one of these theories ever come true or have any evidence to back them and yet more and more people still believe them. I suspect a law or two will eventually be needed to get this back under control and even that will be considered part of a conspiracy to limit free speech. There's good money and easy political gain to be made out of it right now though.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
