An expected parcel delivery this morning has been shunted back to the depot because apparently they have a problem with our address? Can't understand why, there's a brand new post with our house number on it, clearly visible from the road.

It's also my Xmas presie from OH, so I want it now!!

@Lizzie27 did they put a card through the door saying they couldn't find your address?  Just kidding - I hope.  Frustrating though.  Is it a new house so maybe not yet on satnav systems?

Evri tried that one with a QVC parcel. "unable to access address". I suspect it means it has been nicked. We are on a main road and been here for 30 years so  excuse was rubbish.  It didn't get returned to QVC and after a week they sent another one out.

@KT53, no cards and no sign of any parcel anywhere - I sent OH out to check!

It's probably because we live on a corner and the sat-nav usually says, 'you have reached your destination' at the beginning of the cul-de-sac beside us. 'Oh no, you haven't' because our drive is just a little bit further on but they can't be bothered to look. It confuses taxi drivers every time.
Hopefully they'll have a another attempt on Monday. I laughed when I read their email ' can we have a little chat with you, there's a problem with your address'. Do they assume that people have nothing else to do all day but sit glued to their phone/laptop/computer? We were both in the house from 10 am.

Mystic Wild Edges predicts the word 'penalties' will be used a lot for the next few days.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Popped up local news on my phone (not local really, just SE) a huge pile of Evri parcels dumped in a field,I think it said Chatham. Mine. Helped oldest daughter move yesterday. (Told her we can't lift) assured me,NO LIFTING!! well, how were the boxes going to get into the car, bags, clothes, they still have to be lifted! I know she has health problems, mental and physical, but she wasn't ready. She asked hubby to bring tools, to dismantle bed,and lamp shades,THEN she's got a LOT of stuff in the bloody loft,we have to fit ladder in car, PLUS 2 grandkids, we're dropping at their dad's. (Normally done by his parents, but, needed to step up in emergency) she had no heating on....it was -5. You guys know I don't really get cold. I let the cat out. She's never attached the bathroom door knob,I'm severely claustrophobic,(sorry if this is TMI, I have a prolapse) so in the toilet a LOT, I told her I wasn't closing the door, completely. Cat in carrier in bath. I go in there,no cat. THEN she tells us, one of the bottom clips is broken..... course it's MY fault, for not closing the door. He would have scarpered anyway,as soon as the door was opened by anyone.. Got home at 6, frozen. Was expecting to be a couple of hours. Left her a new home card, wrote in it "please don't move again".

Apparently it was the referee 's fault as he wasn't good enough, and also the fault of ITV for showing it.
Of England's World Cup games since 1998, they only won three out of seventeen matches shown on ITV, as opposed to twelve out of sixteen if it was shown on the BBC.

So absolutely nothing to do with Harry Kane missing a penalty. No siree.

I've seen plenty of confusing addresses.  I did some 'Christmas casual' work for Royal Mail years ago and helped out on a delivery round.  Two properties, part of the same 'semi' had the same house number.  One had an address in the road they were facing, the other was an address for the road at the side of the pair.
My sister-in-law had a street name sign attached to their fence by the council, but her house isn't in that street.  Once again a corner property 'mislabelled'.

The referee certainly was poor.  He even needed VAR to intervene to actually give the second penalty, despite the England player being sent flying by a shoulder in the back.  Yes, Harry Kane missed the 2nd penalty but apparently it's only the 4th miss out of 21 he's taken for England.  As for blaming ITV,  I think their coverage has been poor as they seem to be more interested in 'diversity' than in the quality of the broadcasters.
