I wonder how many exercise their diplomatic immunity to kill someone and flee the country?
I woke up at 6am realising that this sickness bug that the kids have had for a week is finally catching up with me. I'm trying to function on no food or coffee and I'm freezing cold with the lack of food to fuel me up.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  •  :) I'm clearly not the only one shouting "I don't care" at the TV with the H&M coverage and the wretched, never ending football.
    Absolutely 🥱

I love the football. It has been wonderfully exciting.

I'm a football fan and have watched lots of matches, including the Brazil v Croatia match which was shown on BBC and ended immediately before the 6 O'clock news.  Why then, did the BBC decide it then needed to be the headline item on the news itself?  Why not leave it to the place on the schedule where sport is normally placed - the end?  Anybody who missed the end of the live broadcast is unlikely to have been in a position to watch a replay immediately after!

Why is the result of a football match mentioned in the main news anyway?
There's  a sport section at the end for that kind of thing
The main news is for war ,murder pestilence, cost of living  and the Royal  family
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • That's my point, I  accept that there will be saturation coverage of the games  but it doesn't need to take over more than half the news immediately it's just been on.

In the unlikely event that England do win the World Cup, there will probably be wall to wall coverage for the next month!

It was the lead story at 9am. Did you know that England are only 3 games away from winning the World Cup ?
The expression "Counting your chickens before  they're hatched" springs to mind...

In other news ,my Dad received a Christmas card from his sister in Australia this morning. It took a week to arrive. The birthday card that he posted to my OH on 25th November (for his birthday on Dec 1st) arrived on 8th December.

@AnniD the media go totally over the top with any England team and then hammer them to death when they don't win everything.
