  I haven't seen this before - I picked a posy of dahlias and it was bombed by bees who didn't distinguish between me and a plant.

  Another new butterfly for the garden and another one that I'm sure I've never seen locally before too.

  I did feel kind of honoured. Of course, it got me wondering how long nectar and pollen stay 'viable' once a flower is picked....

  Walking home through my local park at dusk  today I passed lakes and there were hundreds of dragonflies criss-crossing the path. It was like Clapham Junction. I don't know if this is a dusk phenomenon. I haven't seen it before.
