I think that more goes on in my garden at night, than in the day.

Spotted this beautiful spider that I've never seen before, on a rose shrub (not an insect, I know..). Shape more like a garden/orb spider than a crab spider, but bright green abdomen with a red tip.

They're known as Cucumber Orb Weavers. There's a couple of similar species though and can be hard to tell apart.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I have seen a red admiral twice in one week, which is unheard of.
  • Just spotted, looking very fetching on a dahlia. Not the best pic, but a very pretty blue-green colour. Not sure if it's friend or foe though. Anyone know?
