    @wild edges great photo but not an insect as the thread is all about.
    I don't think this thread has ever been that strict. Speaking of which; I posted a ghost slug a few weeks ago and since then the 'non-marine mollusc curator' at Cardiff Museum has confirmed my ID was correct.

    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    I've just seen this moth on a monarda flower. Can anyone tell me what it is? It's very big.
  • It looks like a Privet Hawkmoth.

  • Any idea what this may be.  I think he's fell down my chimney as my cat was trying to play with it.

    I've placed back outside.

    Thank you, I knew I had some grubs in the back garden as my dog pulls up clumps of grass to try and get to them.

    Interesting to see what they develop in to.
