This is a terrible photo of a flutterby before it fluttered by. Is it a painted lady?

@Fire it is, hoping to see one in the garden this year.

I’m down near the Wild Ken Hill rewilding area in North Norfolk. Clouds of tortoiseshells. I get no butterflies in my garden, so seeing so many is like a miracle.

@Fire wish I was in North Norfolk, my favourite place in the UK.

Must have been a magical sight.

I’m here for a week or so. My first time this far north, past Wells. Clouds of swallows and swifts and lots of kites.

Lucky you, visiting the coastal villages from Brancaster to Cley are my idea of a fantastic holiday.

One day in summer last year I counted ten small tortoiseshells in my garden! Absolute miracle considering the most I'd seen before was one. It was year one having scabious and verbena b. Only seen two at one time so far this year though.

Had a Ringlet in the garden this afternoon, I think that's a first, but no picture unfortunately.
