  A rather uncommon sighting on my lawn today, Lucanus cervus, the European stag beetle. Two female specimens.

  I have been trying out my camera in video mode, and found this leaf-cutter bee collecting pollen from my variegated Heliopsis.

  It's great to see them slowed down like this. They're so fast normally it's almost impossible to get a photo. Nice work.

  Today found a 5th (!) specimen of that female stag beetle, on my decking. A real invasion... Now looking for a male specimen.

  Good morning @Papi Jo is it the Stag Beetle larvae that are the wood borers, if so maybe they have taken a liking to your decking, you might have an entire colony under there.
