Small Magpie moth ( actually a micro moth but its actually bigger than some macro moths)
Aww, thank you, I was already wondering what this beauty is called. Looked her up, we don’t have any plants in our garden that normally would be useful for her caterpillars (blackthorn, hawthorn, currant and gooseberry bushes), but maybe it was raspberry - of which we have plenty.
She was gently captured off the ceiling and placed in a shady part of the garden where she can hopefully rest until dusk.
Some friends made while picking fruit yesterday (bumper crop despite the dry weather btw). All phone pics. It looks like the plume moth had a narrow escape from something.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I've let my mustard greens flower in hopes that I can collect the seeds, and they are constantly covered in some kind of hoverfly and tiny wasps. They are also enjoying the osteospermum I wintered over.
