Calmer here now.  Just been out to do some makeshift repairs (the fence panels keep the deer away from my treasures).  Lost 5 panels in all, some guttering which then landed on and cracked some roof tiles, a felled ceonothus 😢, and some rearranged solid hardwood garden furniture that I struggle to pick up, never mind throw around.

But all peeps are safe and sound, and all damage is repairable, so counting our blessings.

But today has confirmed to me how right I am to be nervous of strong winds.

Part of our roof is not happy, heavy stone tiles and some very large make me worried about people coming up and down the drive.
Next worry, heavy snow due tonight and tomorrow, I am now officially very fed up, but safe.

There was a power cut here this morning, with friends near Swindon, leccy came back in time to heat soup for lunch.

A fence panel has blown down and the roofing felt from the shed is on the lawn.

Good evening. I hope damage, dramas and worries are minimal.

I think we were very lucky that it wasn’t too awful for too long here. Bad times for some though - damage, power cuts and road accidents. I think high winds are definitely the most scary weather. More windy days forecast for the days ahead so I hope no stings in the tail. Keep safe folks. Roll on calmer days!

Going to veg-out this evening as Aunty duties tomorrow!

Yep … a short day today … home well before the worst of this hit here and it’s only half a mile as the crow flies and thankfully there’s no large trees or flying roof tiles en route 😊

I wouldn’t be walking up a tree lined driveway on the edge of the peaks like @punkdoc’s place when roof tiles are flying 😱 Even Amazon have cancelled all deliveries today.
