Fog and high winds @punkdoc ... that sounds horrible indeed, without the rain ... stay indoors and noodle with us, or read a book, or you could start prepping our chicken curry for tomorrow ...

Totally agree @Hostafan1, Martin Freeman is brilliant in it, I think it is a great portrait of a man on the edge, brings back some memories.
down to every twitch, glance, pause and raised eyebrow. Stunning piece of acting. IMHO I hear Killing Eve is coming back on for another series. Another BBC masterpiece.
I started watching that on Iplayer last night Hostafan and was impressed too. I agree with you about Martin Freeman, brilliant acting. He plays the part so realistically.
Hi. My Broadband has been off for three days! I can't tell you how much of a loss it has been. The engineer came this morning and it's fine again. Phew! I am now on catch-up with you all as I sip my cup of tea. The weather here is awful, although the wind is dropping a little. Yesterday I was walking on a stretch of road and had to grab the nearby wall to keep myself from blowing into the road. I'm part way through The Responder and agree with all that has been said about it. I have no problem with his accent- that comment puzzled me.
Possum, brought up bi-lingual English and French in Belgium, watched the trailers when they were on and couldn't understand a word. OH is from Worcester and starting to go deaf. He didn't understand the strong Liverpool accent either. I am rootless but learned to speak English in Lancashire, Manchester and Cheshire with a short early smattering of Geordie and Brum so am good with northern accents.
Wrong nights for me tho and I already have so much backed up to watch that I didn't set it to record.
It has gone cool again now and stayed grey so all I've done outside is water pots in the polytunnel - buds on the nectarine and fuchsias and even a couple of shoots on the cannas. Chillies in the ground in there were looking thirsty and are full of fruit, as are the lemon and limquat trees. The chooks supervised all that after scoffing their daily corn. They love dust bathing in there in winter cos it's dry but i'll shut them out once I have seedlings on the go again.

I didn't do the gardening that I'd meant to do. Instead I went for an hour and a half's walk with my nearest neighbour. She's French and very nice, very chatty. She said she would like to walk with me when I'm free and in France. It will do my French good too. She's been here for over 40 years and knows most of the locals.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Sounds a good use of time, @Busy-Lizzie. I'm noodling on here while my second lot of marmalade is deciding whether it's ready to set or not... I think I bought too many Seville oranges this year... still got 8 fruits in the freezer for another lot. Still, I can always give marmalade to friends & family.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
A little gentle weeding has been accomplished, really quite mild once the wind and rain has eased. There are little signs of life appearing all over the place, and a heron landed on the pond.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
That sounds lovely @Busy-Lizzie … good to have friendly folks around you 😊
Well done @Liriodendron I never got around to buying Sevilles cos of the lurgy, so haven’t made any marmalade … but the farm shop stocks some lovely locally made stuff. 😉
