Echo what @Busy-Lizzie says @Penny_Forthem - join in as little or much as you like. Some people have been here ages, some far less time than you would think. But always lovely when new people join in.
Sorry about your polytunnel @Fritillary - high winds are really scary. And a sensible way forward @D0rdogne_Damsel - particularly meeting on neutral ground so your escape routes are open.
Thanks for the congrats folks. Won’t be “doing” anything with my diploma @Busy-Lizzie - but its made me think more about my gardening, made me a more useful volunteer, and I love learning new things. I never did anything with about 80% of my O-levels (Maths, English and Economics probably the only exceptions) but I’m still glad I did them. Being able to recite the Tsars of Russia came in handy went we visited St Petersburg🤣.
Quick question for our French friends 🇫🇷. Did you have your boosters later than us (Oct/Nov for us 27 year olds in England)? And are you all now having 4th doses? The reason I ask is that Chicklet and I are going to Paris in March (a two year delayed 23rd birthday present) and I only just squeak in for eligibility for your Covid Pass. I will be 4 months passed my booster in the middle of March.
Good morning everyone. Calm here after a blustery night but no visible damage. Hope everyone has survived Dudley without serious damage. Polytunnels notwithstanding.
Off to the vet in half an hour. Polly has diarrhoea now. No idea why. I keep their hut cleaned, they get fresh straw daily, we use no chemicals in the garden. A worrying puzzler.
@chicky - OH and I had our boosters at the 6 month date because that was the rule then but they changed and Possum has her booster after just a 4 month gap. No chat here about having a 4th jab except for the very vulnerable. This link may help - https://www.sante.fr/how-to-obtain-a-french-health-pass

There are no restrictions for fully vaccinated travellers.
They must only:
Present proof of being fully vaccinated
Sign a sworn statement (engagement sur l’honneur) confirming that they are not experiencing Covid symptoms and have not in the last 14 days been in contact with a confirmed Covid case. The statement also includes a promise to take a Covid test on arrival in France if required to by the travel authorities, but this would only be if you were asked.
The French government website states: "The same measures applied to vaccinated adults are applied to any minors who are travelling with them, whether vaccinated or not."
Note that a person aged 18 and over must also get a booster dose within nine months of their last required dose to remain “fully vaccinated”. People who have already received a booster dose are considered fully vaccinated.
Morning all (still, just). Haven't been on here for a few days and just read back. @D0rdogne_Damsel - such a shock for you! It sounds like you are handling it all well and it's good that you have the support of your ex.
The front fence between me and next-door is now down. It's leaning against his car, so I hope the car isn't too damaged. We did have a chat about it after the last windy storm a few days ago and he said he would get the posts fixed. It's his fence but the posts are on my side. I tried to hammer them in more securely but to no avail - they need replacing.
The plastic cover off my 'blow-away' has blown clean away - no sign of it in my garden so who knows where it has ended up. The frame is all intact though, and the cuttings in their pots all present and correct. So mild though that I'm not worried about them and they can just stay as there are for now.
It's been non-stop meetings for me this week and the trouble with that is that meetings generate action points, so I must stop idling on here and get on with things! A Zoom meeting last night saw one of the people suddenly disappear! He then sent a message to the host - power cut!
Hope the wind (and Eunice still to come!) is not causing everyone too much disruption and damage, especially our friends in Scotland and the North.

Eunice is coming at us from a different direction. Red warning now from round about @wild edges and @AuntyRach, past @Hostafan1 and on down to Landsend. We're about 5 miles outside it - I'm guessing it may miss @Lyn by a similar sort of distance. Not sure I find that all that reassuring but better than being squarely in it

Thanks @Obelixx and @floralies. The thing I was reading was that the rules changed on 15th February so that you are only eligible for a passe sanitaire if it is less than 4 months since you had your booster (changed from less than 7 months). Since my booster was on 21 Nov then past 21 March I would not be able to get one. So although I would be allowed entry to France I would be severely restricted as to what I could do when I was there. Maybe I have misunderstood.
As it happens we are coming home on 14th March so all is fine - but that’s what I mean about “squeaking in”. Luckily Mr C is not coming as we would have had to leave him outside places 🤣
A-ha!! Just read it more carefully and the reqt is to have had a booster within 4 months ……not to have a second booster within 4 months. Glad I’ve got it clear in my head now !!!
Afternoon all. Just checked the Met Office red warning area and yup, we're in it. I tried to explain to Hubby that I might not visit tomorrow, but I've no idea if he understaood. Not wise to drive 65 mile round trip in that weather.

Looks like Eunice will miss this area thank goodness, last night was bad enough. Just checked everything and no damage was done.
