  • Half term here too LB, although with these winds I think they'd be closed anyway.

SGL, I have abandoned the idea of going to the SM today - it can wait until tomorrow. Got enough of everything in for Lily to last until then. Hope your bins don't take off.

  • Good morning all.
I've been awake most of the night, only sleeping when the wind quietened down . Now it is sunny, blue skies, not sure it'll last.
I've done some tasks and will put my feet up now with some coffee.
Best wishes for Deb's daughter for today.
I hope you've enjoyed your lie in Dove.

You snuckered in there Hazel. I am not complaining as the forecast was correct for the last two days. As you, I am not happy when its wild and windy so I'm hoping tomorrow is just a bit quieter.

We've had a lie in. Just finished brekkies.

I think Morrisons is somewhat nearer than Waitrose, thanks, @Dovefromabove  😉 I hope your OH isn't blown off his bike.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • He said he came home quicker than he went out @Busy-Lizzie ... even loaded down with shopping 😂

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Glad you didn't go out in this awful weather @Ladybird4
@Songbird-1 did the gusty winds disappear around one?
Still quite breezy here, but not as bad as this morning. Still bitterly cold though.
'Sco arrived 20 minutes earlier than time slot and everything arrived too. 🤗
Hope you're all safe and warm at home.

  • Afternoon everyone, had a huge surprise waiting for me at mums today a big old flowering Cherry tree had fallen over in the back garden.

Astonishingly it had landed in between a hedge and the greenhouse without damaging either. Mum was sad about the loss as they’d planted it when they moved here, but relieved it hadn’t caused more damage. Mums gardener is coming tomorrow to remove it,
Hope you are all coping with this severe weather again today, it’s been a real mixture of sunshine, rain & gales. The children were kept in today for safety’s sake, we played games in class instead.
LB Sensible to hold off with the shopping until tomorrow, Hope it will be calmer then for you to go out,
SGL I’m glad your shopping has been delivered with everything you needed, hope there are no more power cuts,
Hazel I hope the winds have dropped as forecast, still very breezy here at the moment but not as bad as before thankfully.
Janet I hope you are enjoying a leisurely afternoon, just having a hot cuppa then I’ll start thinking about what to do next 😊
Hope all is going well for Debs daughter with her first course of treatment and for Debs at the allotment if she has been able to go.
    Have a good afternoon everyone.
