Good morning LB and all to follow.

LB, sorry to hear that you had a bad weather last night. I read about huge storm in Germany. I'm glad that your cold is better. First get better then you can have more time with your Bestie.

Grey morning here. It's not raining, but might soon. I'm off to school. Two more day and it's weekend.

  • Morning @Ladybird4 and all to follow.
It was certainly windy during the night! It was howling.  I've looked out the back LB  and all looks ok. Will go and investigate the front when I'm dressed 😉
Glad you're feeling better this morning LB, shame you can't go to see your friend.
    Safe journey @Busy-Lizzie and OH
I'm going to pop to the SM for a few bits this morning, looks ok at the moment.
Need another cup of tea, see you later.

    Good morning all.
Thank you SG Lily and LB.

What a gale there was in the night, looks calmer now, I hope it's OK for our journey.

  • Sorry Ruby and Ante you weren't there just now. Morning!
    Morning @Busy-Lizzie too.
It certainly was Busy, it's sunny here at the moment and quite calm. But the forecast for to tomorrow is awful. Today is supposed to quite nice. Hope the weather is kind to you for your journey.
    Take care everyone

Good morning, Ruby, Ante, SGL and Busy. It was such a wild night for sure. I could hear my roof tiles rattling - that does make me very nervous. Safe trip to the SM SGL. Don't get blown away. The forecast here for tomorrow is like yours SGL - horrendous. Hatches had better be battened down! Looks as though it could be a good Lily's TV day.
Ante, these weeks are going passed so quickly. I'm sure that you have lots of plans for the weekend.

    Morning all,

Hope you've all survived the 'first half'. Looks like we've escaped any damage so far. I nipped out to put the strapping around the 'blow away' back in place late last night. The clouds were whizzing across the full moon.

Off to visit my sister shortly with a boot full of planting options. Could be a bit breezy on the highest motorway in England :o

  • Hello all ... isn't it odd how it's always recycling bin week that we get the stormy winds?  We spent considerable time yesterday evening chasing other people's foil trays, plastic and glass bottles, tins and plastic containers up and down the rise ... why do people put the bins out overnight when the forecast is so bad?  We kept ours back in the lee of next door's garage and only pulled them forward at 7am this morning.  Older folk who may not be as early risers as us rarely have a bin full of recycling so it wouldn't matter if they missed a collection ...

Hope no one here's had too much damage ... can't see any problems (other than flying recycling) here but there are 'trees on the line' etc across the region ... however I think the west has had it worse than us.

Stay safe folks, keep your hatches battened ready for the next one ... meanwhile I'm off to get my Shingles jab ... having just become eligible  :o

It's a mystery d-fab. I only put any bin out if it is reasonably full with the exception of the garden waste, which goes out regardless.

It's not like Dudley and Eunice haven't been publicised either. Surely setting an early alarm for one day is better than the neighbourhood being strewn with your rubbish overnight? :(

The blue bin wagon has just been so the empty bins are now likely to end up in the town centre if they don't get put away sharpish!

  • Hi all. I hope you've all survived this awful storm- my thoughts will be with those affected by the next one, which I believe will be further south.
I phoned my OH mid afternoon yesterday as the storm here hit the heights. I was worried more about the local roads, which flood so quickly. He did decide to pack up and leave work early and sure enough, it wasn't long when there was notification the roads  had become impassable. Phew!
All I noticed here this morning was that our bird table had turned over in the night and a few smallish branches are strewn everywhere. More affected has been the major trainline across the county- debris and floodwater causing problems.
I hope all will be well with you in the coming days and all problems become little ones and eventually blow away with this pesky wind.
