Afternoon all. It's been a tad breezy here too. Debating whether or not to put the recycling bin out for tomorrow. The bin men will either be here at 6.30am tomorrow or they'll be 2 or 3 days late. There's nowhere to wedge it so could end up being blown over - but it's also pretty full and could do with emptying. Decisions, decisions🤔

Sorted out OH's bike MOT, did a SM run and also paid a visit to the Dulux Decorator's Centre. If the weather's not suitable for gardening I may as well paint the kitchen😫
Now here's a question for you - which is the worse room to paint? - kitchen or bathroom? Bit of a toss up isn't it? - both totally disruptive.

We will be mainly enjoying ping chicken (Ante = microwave meals) for the next few days. Happy Days!

  • Afternoon Topbird, You’ve had a very productive day, a good few tasks done. That’s a very hard question to answer! I’d have to say the Kitchen only because of clearing away those items on top of the units & work surfaces, but it is a close call as we have only one bathroom 🤔
  • I'm glad you're pleased with your sofa, @Songbird-1. Sounds really comfy! Good luck at the GP appointment tomorrow.
@Topbird I hope the painting goes well. There's quite a bit to do in our house, but I keep putting it off. Not my favourite thing to do. The utility room is probably in most need of painting, I might encourage my OH to tackle it- it's an awkward shape and it's cold in there.

Afternoon everyone. What a mad day its been today. Smug face here, I actually managed to get a Lily's TV load done and brought in just before another hailstorm.
Chive I rang Bestie to ask her how the Foodbank had been and she said it had been very quiet today. I think that the weather had a big part to play in the absences.
A member of the Citizen's Advice Bureau has been funded to assist in interviewing clients at the foodbank with the aim of enhancing the 'signposting' of them to places where they can receive extra support and hopefully this can help lead to the eradication of the need for food banks. I got a nice surprise email too, all volunteers at this newest Foodbank have been invited by the Trussell Trust to a 'Thank You' Celebration Evening in March. That should be very nice. Bestie has also 'volunteered' us to help on two extra days as the holiday season is approaching and people are taking advantage of going away. She knew that I wouldn't mind at all.
Biglad, I love your atmospheric picture - wonderful!
Janet, I'm glad that you managed to give your OH the heads up about the weather. Its been quite nightmarish in many places and by all accounts we need to be very careful tomorrow. I reckon you could play on that early warning to your OH by asking the favour of decorating the utility room. Worth a try anyway.
For those people just starting the half term breaks it is not looking good.
Hazel, good to see you. You have put an amusing picture into my head of you leaping onto your new sofa. It sounds very nice.

  • Evening everyone,
The weather this morning wasn't too bad, the sun was shining and only a gentle breeze. I went to SM and got fresh fruit, bread, milk  and a few other bits. Still sunny when I got home, but by early afternoon it was cloudy and chilly.  Even though it's dark now, you can see some very large black clouds in the sky and there's just a slight breeze.
Hope it's not going to be as bad as they forecast.
@Songbird-1 good to see you, glad your sofa has arrived and you're pleased with it. I felt I needed a ladder when we first got our bed, I've got used to the height now 😁
Hope all goes well at Drs tomorrow.
Good luck painting @Topbird I'd rather paint the bathroom than the kitchen....not so much to move 😉 although ours is fully tiled now, so just the ceiling and door frame 🤭
Great photo @Biglad hope all went well with the planting at your sisters.
@bluebellsintherain glad you had a successful SM shop and got back ok.
    Minds gone blank, sorry everyone.
Time for something to eat, batten everything down and stay safe everyone.

  • Top bird I had tagliatelle tonight from the balanced for you range and it was rather nice.  Hazel glad youre enjoying your new sofa, sounds lovely  Janet it was good your oh set off home early.  Have a good evening all.  Chive you’ll be glad to be back home.

Hazel - you have conjured up images of you taking a running jump at the sofa🤣 Glad you're pleased with it.

Decision made. Two boxes removed from the recycling bin and it's now less than half full. It can wait for 2 weeks. If we hear the bin lorry one of us can dash out with it. One advantage of a no-through road - they have to turn round and come back up!

We now have 70mph gusts forecast for tomorrow.😬

Chive Bruno is doing well . The vet wants to see him next week because some of the teeth  she removed were deep in the jaw .He has some antibiotics to finish .Lily my mind frequently goes blank .LB what a good idea that a representative of Citizens Advice Bureau will be at the food bank to advise clients what else is available to help them .Hazel lovely to see you .So pleased that you like your new sofa .Take care tomorrow going to the docs .TBird  for me painting the kitchen is worse than painting the bathroom .So many cupboard doors .Janet I used to love painting a room . Not anymore ,too exhausting. Also I am a messy decorator . I think I do a good job but I get paint all over myself and the decorators sheet I put down .Chive my large pots have survived .I am very pleased about  that . I wouldn’t fancy clearing broken shards and compost up in this weather .
Rosie keep, warm .I am signing out keep safe everyone .

    Good evening to all.

I just came home from my neighbour. He called me on coffee, which means that we had brandy😂. It was grey and cold day, no very pleasant.
Didn't read back, but I hope that you are all well and that storm didn't cause lot of damage. Wish you all a restful night.
