Sorry good morning Busy, I’m glad you made it safely to your friends yesterday and had a comfortable nights sleep. Nice of your neighbour to keep an eye on things for you back home.
Morning T'Bird - you snuckered in there. I am a bit spooked by the calmness here and am bracing myself wondering what will hit me later. It is not good news is it? Glad my kind neighbour got my fence done for me as I think todays threatened storm would have put paid to the remnants of my old one once and for all.
Janet, you can only go if you think it will be safe or not. Random empty trolleys skittering about all over the place could be problematic.
SGL, as well as remembering to take dekkies to Charity shops in October we had better get ourselves sorted with camping stoves. Hope it WAS you who was talking to me about this. Memory not as good as it used to be!
Oh, hello, its going darker and darker here. I was in the garden earlier and it was just starting to rain when I came in.
Chive, deep breaths and count to 10. It is a worry, especially as they have warned we could lose mobile phone connections too. I'll join you for a cup of tea.
Busy, I'm glad that you arrived safely at your friends and that you have a super 'catch up' with them. How long are you staying away?
Ante, I promise that we have not sent our storm to you! I do like the idea of being invited for coffee and then being presented with a brandy. Think I could do with that now
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Hello all ... hope you're all snug and safe. Yes @Topbird, WonkyWomble's int he Red Zone too ... she's cancelled all her jobs today and is staying indoors. The wind is roaring around here but not as bad as it could be so far ... I'm taking OH to work in the car in a minute as I don't want him accosted on his bike by a whirling wheeliebin ...
The Shingles jab was fine thanks ... apparently I might get a headache and slight fever in a week to ten days' time ... but nothing so far.
Stay indoors everyone ... nothing is worth getting hurt for 🤗
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Yes it was me @Ladybird4 🎉🎉 Perhaps a trip to Millets or Blacks....other camping shops are available.....should be on our list 😉 Ooh yes please @Chivetalking I'll get the biscuits ready 🍪🍪🍪🍪
I have a camping stove and a small pan and kettle . It has been useful in the past . We had the little ones in the street come to have baked beans and bread and butter when we had a long power cut .Fortunately it was day time ,we didn’t need candles .I enjoyed feeding them and the little ones enjoyed themselves .It was treated like a party . LB I could have been typing in invisible ink . It sure was invisible .
Ladies there are plenty of camping stoves on the big river site ,if you are interested in buying one .The new ones are much more high tech than mine . I have to have my CUPPA no matter what’s going on with my electricity.
Good Morning Dove, Rubee & Hazel, Glad to hear Wonky is staying safe at home and your shingles jab went ok,
LB Your fence was done in good time, that was very lucky, Rubee What a kind thing to do, hot beans with bread & butter those children were very fortunate.
Hazel I’m pleased you’ve been to the doctors and safely back home again.
OH has been sent home by the company Phew 😅 Son is already at work will need to stay put until this calms down to travel home.
Plenty of tea going 🫖☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ thanks for providing the biscuits SGL 😊
I’ll join you for a cuppa I have some kitkats. I’ve stayed in today and had the tv off and Alfie is sleeping on the bed. The wind seems to be picking up. Chive I’ll be glad for you when your oh and son arrive home. LB when you were talking about Lily licking the sauce and not eating the lumps that’s exactly what mine used to do. Hazel raining here too I can hear the pitter patter.
