We had a power cut this morning. It came back just in time to heat up soup for a late lunch.

I see that the Eden Project has closed for today. I wonder how many other places have had to shut down.

  • LB It must be disheartening to see your plants waterlogged, hope you find the catalogue a welcome distraction this afternoon,Β
Busy I bet you were pleased to have that hot soup, hope the power stays on now,Β
SGL OH is on FB and some of the comments have been making him chuckle.
    Hazel Fingers crossed for you,Β

A nearby property has problems the aerial & chimney have been damaged and it’s all suspended on the roof, the poor firemen are working up there now trying to secure it and it’s still blowing a gale.Β
  • πŸ˜‚ @Ladybird4 I was sent a similar one to yours.Β
@Busy-Lizzie glad you got your power back in time for lunch.Β
@bluebellsintherain & @Chivetalking I had one of those chocolate covered biscuits with my cup of tea this afternoon πŸ˜‹
@Songbird-1 little table sounds perfect, has OH got one too.Β
The wind has dropped to a slight breeze and the sun is shining at the moment.Β
Hope everyone is ok and no damage.
Sorry to hear your garden is waterlogged @Ladybird4

Just been out to walk friend's little dog around their garden. The wind isn't so strong but it's bitterly cold.

About to have tea and crumpets.

My sister-in-law texted me to say that their friends who live opposite them and who have just had their roof re-tiled, lost a tile that fell through the rear window of their car on the drive. A double whammy. Several other people in the road have lost tiles too. I had something white flapping around in my camellia. It wasn't a plastic bag but looked like one of those large men's handkerchiefs. It didn't stay there long thank goodness as I would not have been able to reach it. It will be draped in someone else's tree now. It did help me notice that the first pink flower on my camellia is fully open and it sits proudly on top. The winds don't seem to have had any impact on it at all.

    Good evening to all.

I'm so sorry to read about bad weather and damage caused by it. I saw on tv how much problem you have.Β
It's time for dinner. I was at cottage and made first raised bed. Two more to go. I need a good rest because tomorrow is shopping day.
