The engineer just left . We need a new pump and pressure gauge . We can still use the boiler with a bucket under it .We can cope with that .It will be next week before the order comes through .
Hazel, good news about the BP. I absolutely love your latest pebble picture and before I even had chance to read SGL's post I thought exactly the same as her - it would look lovely on your saly table.
Ruby, you get the scream today:
What a nightmare for you. As Hazel says it always happens at the worst of times.
Hazel, I have checked the forecast and they are speaking of more strong winds tomorrow and Monday - eeek!
p.s. meant to say Hazel, that I was sorry to hear about your fence panel. Hope it can be repaired easily.

I feel for you, @Rubee Why is it that heating/boiler problems occur when it's so cold? I'm glad, @Dovefromabove you escaped the worst- from what I gathered, your area was to be hit quite hard. Well, our snow began to melt, thanks to the afternoon sun but it's now edging below freezing, so am worried it will be icy in the morning. I'm super scared of icy pavements and roads.
A friend on another forum had fence damage due to the high winds- you can imagine the ribbing she got when she posted, "I am a panel short of a full fence."
Janet, I am with you in disliking icy roads and pavements. I tend to do the tippy toes walk if I have to go out.
When do you return home Busy? I'll bet you can't wait to get back to your warm house. My friend in Crewe sounds a little like your friends. She keeps telling me her heating is on and I'm having to sit there in my outdoor coat to keep warm. When she comes to stay at mine she says she is too hot! I know which of the two temperatures I like to be in.

First, I'm relief that you didn't have any major damage last night. Hazel, I hope that fence panel can be easily repaired. I came home around six o'clock completely exhausted. One thing which I didn't found is paint. (Don't know why I'm happy about that?) Maybe Hazel have some spare. It's raining whole day. I'll retire for today and go to relax a bit. Tonight is Poirot on tv.
Evening everyone, all ok at mums just some small branches scattered about and a plant pot in the pond, nothing damaged thankfully, LB Glad to hear your cold is easing away now, but I can’t believe your snowy outlook goodness it settled quickly 🥶 Hazel I’m glad you got on well at the Drs, great news about your blood pressure. Lovely painted stone, I agree with SGL & LB it would make an attractive ornament. Sorry to hear about the damaged fence panel, just glad it wasn’t anything more,
SGL Pleased everything looked ok in your garden, each time you & Hazel mention the favourite shop I start browsing too so many nice things to choose from 😊 Rubee Sorry to hear your boiler is needing repairs what awful timing! Glad you’ve got use of it until the plumber can return with the new parts. Pleased your big pots are still ok 👍 Bluebells I’m glad you got home safely before the pavements became too hazardous, hope you are keeping warm, Busy Not much fun to feeling cold, I’d be in front of the fire too. Hope you enjoyed a nice lunch out at the pub today, Dove Glad you’ve not had any damage, been busy in the kitchen, Ante Feet up and relax for the evening that must have been a tiring day, Hope Topbird has managed to get another coat done in the kitchen today, Janet I hope the thaw continues and you’re not left with an ice rink in the morning, so treacherous take care, Have a nice evening everyone.
I am glad that the pics make you laugh Hazel, that was the idea. I hope it is a comfort to all that they can come and offload on here as much as they like. We can't solve the problems but some of us have experienced the same horrors and we are good listeners.
I am signing out for tonight, my snow has just about gone now - just a few patches left in the front garden. Janet I hope it doesn't freeze tonight. Night night all, see you tomorrow.

We've been out for lunch with our friends in a very old pub near Marlborough.
