Hi obelixx, I know you do a lot of baking. My wine glasses, some have gold rims, dishwasher removed them, some purple stems, they didn't fair well either. My champagne flute had a design all over, that's never going in the dishwasher.I shouldn't have felt the need to justify myself to my friend. The reason I ended up with one,was because when hubby was working and refitted the kitchen,it involved digging up the concrete floor, for a couple of months,I did the washing up in the bath, kneeling on the floor, then he temporarily plumbed a dishwasher in the conservatory,so I didn't go completely mad. Bencotto, they do, but the Fairy Platinum isn't the same quality as it used to be,-I expect they've "thinned it down" so it doesn't work as well or last as long,a ploy to make you buy more. The small bottle says made in the UK,the Platinum, Czech Republic, I've never bothered to look before.
There was a Microsoft update that stopped mine working . Maybe they sorted it but I don't print stuff anymore anyway so I don't know. There's some issue that involves spooling whatever that is but I couldn't be arsed to sort it
I've spend what seems like hours trying to solve my slow working laptop over the past few days. After removing cookies, and defragging, I discovered it was trying to upgrade Windows from 10 to vs 11. Despite my laptop being less than 4 years old, apparently there's a problem with it, it's not 'new' enough. Think I've now managed to quicken it up.... at least it reminded me to backup several files to a 'cloud'.
Have you also emptied your recycle bin @Jenny_Aster?
I'm not doing a lot of baking at the mo @Nanny Beach cos we're not allowed to remove masks to share food outside the home and restaurants but by the time we've had lunch and dinner we easily have a full dishwasher. Have always preferred plain glass and crystal and that turns out to be more practical too.
Your Fairy is not alone @Nanny Beach. Marmite has been watered down too.

Whoops, no I hadn't, thanks for the reminder laptop's now been relieved of nearly 2k useless files 'weighing' over 1GB. I nearly always forget that directory. Thanks for the reminder!
Hate it though when the box pops up asking if I'm sure I want to delete the files, that always makes the blood drain from my head a bit. A friend's son works in IT in one of the big banks, he's one of the consultants who must be on hand just in case there's a problem. When a big outrage happens to a bank's system, he and others are offered counselling, such is how traumatic it must be - I can only sympathise.
I find the lid on mine keeps getting stuck solid. I have to run it under the tap to get it open so something has definitely changed. The last had lasted for a couple of years and it never got stuck once. I notice that it's owned by unilever. Is that a recent thing? And it's now got a use by date for goodness sake!

Is that the Marmite or the washing up liquid? And are they both made by Unilever? Am I starting to see a trend here?!
I’ve just checked my three bottles of Fairy Liquid, one Platinum the others regular. All are made in the UK. But I agree that the product has lost its efficacy with suds not lasting so long. And though suds probably have little linkage to cleansing ability, to me it just seems like they do.
I have just checked the FL FaceBook page and, my word, the complaints about changed formulation (for the worse) are rife, one conversation running for nine years. All my life I have used FL, ratified by the fact that it has always come first in Which? tests. But now I think I’ll switch to the much cheaper Aldi Magnum, a product that has just superseded FL in first place in Which? tests. Anyway, Procter and Gamble deserve to lose my custom as punishment for those goddamn awful Fairy Liquid adverts.

Counselling for system outages, when that is their job, you must be kidding! Sadly I suspect you aren't. I worked for one of the major banks in the 90's and early 2000s and was expected to get on with resolving the problem. To be fair, we did very nicely out of the Y2K bug scare. We had to be on site over the whole New Year holiday and had to do absolutely nothing. They even provided beds so we could sleep if/when there was nothing to do. For the inconvenience we were paid 3x the normal overtime rate which came in at nearly £100 per hour. 2 or 3 12 hour shifts were nice little earners.
Ecover washing up liquid is on special offer in Sainsbugs this week ... £2 for 950ml = £2.10 per litre ... it works perfectly well and doesn't dry my dishwasher's hands out ... he says
Fairy Platinum is £1.80 for 625 ml = 2.88 per litre
