I'd think many of the Non Dom sports people don't pay any tax here. and the likes of Lewis Hamilton have moved abroad to avoid paying it too
Hmm … Lewis Hamilton is among the top 5,000 tax payers in the UK

Those plastic baskets in wheels are ridiculous. They're impossible to manoeuvre. They're a couple of inches off the ground so you have to bend double to get anything out of them and they're too deep to carry by the handles. It was easier when you had to hunt around for an empty box.
    Wasn't too clean either...

I wonder how many of the top 5000 tax payers in the UK use tax avoidance measures though?

Tax avoidance is the use of perfectly legal practices in order not to pay more tax than you have to. Many many perfectly moral law-abiding citizens do the same. Investing permitted amounts tax-free in a pension fund is tax avoidance.

Tax evasion by hiding more than the permitted amount in a pension fund or similar is a totally different matter and is illegal.

Bet365 is a Billion £ company that uses legal tax avoidance. They will happily point out that they pay the highest amount of taxes in the UK but that still doesn't mean they're paying what they should be. Just an example.

    Whose “should” @wild edges?

I guess Bet365 are paying what the government thinks they should pay, meeting legal obligations.

However they are not paying what you (and I) think they should pay.

If they are the ones based in Stoke on Trent, I think they must be employing more people than Wedgwood these days, judging by the huge office block opposite the wedgwood factory shop.  (4000 people across the organisation according to wikipedia.)
