I would put money on it that the vast majority of âselfish, ignorant and stupidâ road users are male.
Sorry chaps, itâs just my experience.
I would say precisely the opposite, as would my wife and my niece. The most ignorant, selfish drivers tend to be young women in 'hot hatches'. If I see a car so close behind me I can't see the grille, it's about 75% probability it's a young female driving it.
Crossing a pedestrian crossing, light on green, a cyclist came flying at me going through red. I shouted the lights are red for you. F off came the reply. I understand totally what you say pansyface.
That's happened to me several times, both in central London and in central Leeds. There are some cyclists (not all, I'm sure, but it seems like a significant number) who seem to think they don't need to stop on red for pedestrian crossings and the pedestrians should just jump out of their way, tough luck if you're blind, deaf or not very nimble. If a motor vehicle driver did that I could at least take down their number plate and report them. Nothing might come of it, but with cyclists there isn't even a chance.
Round here the main menace is adult cyclists on pavements expecting pedestrians to hear them coming from behind and jump out of the way, and some mobility scooters go a bit too fast too. I don't think anyone riding on the pavement should be going faster than a brisk walking pace.
The law should require cyclists to use cycleways if they are available, and to ride on the road if not. If I'm walking I will not make space available for a cyclist other than a child to get past me on the footpath.

I presume that's the same confusion that allows them to ignore red traffic lights, ride the wrong way down one way streets or on the wrong side of a two way street, cycle through pedestrian areas where there are signs saying 'No cycling'.........
Apparently the 15km queue of lorries waiting to get into Dover port is now visible from space. But hardly reported on any news channels... have we just become bored by the fallout from B****t? Â
Apologies to @B3 - I suspect this breaches the Good Taste guidelines for this thread Â
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Maybe Br***t is less controversial than B*kes. At any rate it might help with w***leđ I'm thinking Brexit (there I've said it) needs to be discussed if not here , somewhere. Imagine the fuss if we hadn't been distracted by Covid.
I don't suppose there are any stats for the age group causing most fatal and serious injuries to others, but getting away without serious injuries themselves.
