I thought electric scooters were banned from anywhere but private land.

They are but that has never stopped people riding them on the footpaths around here.  Mobility scooters are supposed to be limited to 4mph on the footpath.
Tell that to some of the folks round here! They go a good bit faster than I can walk, and I can probably do 3 or 3.5 mph on the flat.

Don't you just love folk who justify their hatred and bigotry behind their "holy" books?

Hosta,I saw that to. Obviously didn't want to sell their house very badly. I lived with my now husband(oh yeah in the "biblical sense") 10 years, and we had an 8 year old daughter) one of the guys I worked FT nights with kept on telling me that sex outside marriage was illegal.  He was very religious, the nurse in charge was Muslim, both spent many hours lecturing the atheist!I wonder if they would refuse to sell to a different religion. The chaps sexualities were no one's business,I wonder why they didn't just say they were buying  a house together.perhaps there was a hex put on it by the religious bigots!

JennyJ, I didn't say that users obey the rules.  There was one woman in our town who was well known for travelling at speed right outside shop doors in shopping centres and pedestrianised areas.  If she didn't seriously injure somebody it's a miracle.

Sounds like Purplebricks did the honourable thing @Hostafan1 and refused to sell the house on the nutter's behalf.  But I'm amazed that the couple could afford to buy a house priced at over £600k at such a young age.  They must have great jobs!

Religion - the root of all evil. For all the good it does you may may as well worship Spiderman.
How anybody is convinced there is a God I've always found quite bizarre.

If there's a religion whose God has protected every one of his / her followers from Covid, I'll pray to that one.

Perhaps the people who do believe in God will also find it as equally bizarre that people don’t believe in God .

    Well, you could consider pastafarianism.
The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster likewise shuns existing scientific proofs that humans evolved from primates. Evolution links 95% of human DNA to primates, but Pastafarianism says that the modern human shares 99.9% of their DNA with pirates. Therefore, the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster strongly believes that the modern man really evolved from pirates.

Or you could become an acolyte of Anoia
Anoia is the Goddess of Things That Get Stuck in Drawers, a minor goddess on the Discworld. When someone rattles a drawer and cries "How can it close on the damned thing but not open with it? Who bought this? Do we ever use it?", even though the person might be genuinely irritated or even exasperated, it is as praise unto Anoia. Faithful Anoians (worshippers of Anoia) purposefully rattle their drawers and complain every day. Anoia also finds objects that roll under other objects and things stuck in sofa cushions, and is considering handling stuck zippers.
