That's so frustrating, @Fairygirl.  I guess you now have to visit neighbours and see if any of them know anything...  good luck!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

The problem is that they tend to drop the parcels at the door, knock/ring and then go, despite the fact they're meant to wait and see if someone answers.  :/

I don't expect it'll be of any use to anyone if it's been nicked. Its stuff for dealing with blanketweed  :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I had a recent parcel delivered by Royal Mail, and left a box by the front door for them to put it in. That worked fine.  When I checked the delivery confirmation email, expecting to see a photo of the box, I was very surprised that all they’d provided were the map coordinates! All the other tracking I’ve seen has included a photo of the parcel, usually on the floor inside our hall.

I'm curmudgeonly about the change in meaning of "slated".  All my life I've known it to mean "severely criticised", as in "Her recent novel was slated by the critics".  However, it now appears to mean "chalked up", eg "He is slated to appear in the next home match".  My guess is that this is an Americanism which has crept across the Atlantic without my being informed...   :|

I've know both meanings for years, although 'severely criticised' is certainly the more common usage.  'Slated' and 'Slated to' are really different terms.

Unless somebody lives in a house with a very long drive, I would be surprised if the coordinates would be any different if the button was pressed from inside the cab of the delivery vehicle.

I've looked again at the tracking and apparently it's now going to be delivered today.
When you look at the tracking it's very odd. Seems it's had a trip around various parts of the country, despite it apparently being received at the local depot two days ago. Hope it's enjoyed it's little holiday  :D

I've never heard it before but the meaning is obvious😉
I've decided to start each day with adieu. It covers most of the vowels😊

    That sounds familiar @Songbird-1.
I think it's one of those Swiss Army Knife words.
