Thank you @Hostafan1, yes we've sent the DS1500 sometime in November. Last week the form was returned because a signature was missing..... it's feels like a bad merry-go-round.

That's appalling treatment Jenny.  I appreciate many staff are working from home, but DS1500 was treated as an absolute priority when I worked at DWP.  3 months is simply unacceptable.  If you can, I would take it up with your local MP.  One call from them normally get things moving.
Good suggestion @KT53, I will be writing to my MP. We have a nice lady advising, she's warned it's taking over 12 weeks. She's visiting us tomorrow so no doubt the timeline will be discussed, and I'm pretty sure she's 'on the case'. Never been in this situation before and it's a learning curve, I doubt we're the only ones.

... well done! I do hate labels, it's great your Husband is not living up to his.

This is why I didn't want to hear my Husband's prognosis, but of course it wasn't my call. Since he's been on a low strength chemo tablet he's rallied and can now manage without his hated wheelchair. He can't have any stronger drugs because his heart can't take it.

Keep looking on the positive side! x

I feel grateful that we have gone from, He won't survive the day, to he'll never walk again  (he was paralysed from the neck down at that point) to arguing with a nurse that I wasn't allowed in. Its against the rules.  It's against the rules to leave someone who came in by ambulance in cubicles for 11 hours, going black with sepsis and having strokes,  before anybody noticed . I said to get the CEO down and we'd have a discussion about rules and medical negligence.  Amazing how fast they backed off at that point. I just feel I have been battling for six months.  I arranged the house modifications, with help from family who are useful in these situations.  I arranged the gym membership, starting with him walking across a pool back and forth, to various machines to strengthen legs. I drive him there and back.  Nurse turns up from occupational therapy with no thermometer and a broken blood pressure machine. Happy with the grab handles, not seen her since.  The physios at the hospital got him from lying in a bed unable to move, to walking(with a frame) in four weeks flat, after he had spent two weeks in intensive care after five hours of aortic valve replacement. They followed him from ward to ward, and did a wonderful job.  God help anybody who hasn't got someone to keep fighting for them.

The only one at the BBC who deserves his salary is David Attenborough.

Lord above it's heartbreaking to read some of these posts and the sheer incompetence or lack of staff or care is dreadful. Having been in your position I can empathise totally and sometimes it feels as though it's like walking through a quagmire. My thoughts are with you.

When I was an adult literacy tutor, the BBC skillswise was a valuable tool. I still use bitesize for a clear explanation of scientific / philosophy stuff that I wonder about. When there's a big news story, I trust them but I take kussenberg with a pinch of salt. I think it was @Hostafan1 who asked who else we'd go to.
Also, many of the comedies we hold dear would never have been given the time to mature on a commercial channel.
I also trust Channel 4. They're after that too.

I’ve got tears in my eyes after reading about some of the massive failures of the NHS and the supposed support services, that some of you have experienced. I spent my entire working life in the NHS, fighting for treatment for some of the most disadvantaged in society, and it’s tragic to read about the lack of joined up thinking in some areas. Doesn’t look like things will improve any time soon either.

We need a government that is for the people. Oops. That sounds a bit left wing.

The freezing of the licence fee may mean the BBC having to dispense with the services of a few overpaid presenters.  How does somebody who's sole job seems to be sitting talking about football justify a multi-million pound salary?
How does someone kicking a ball about justify theirs?

Very interesting question.  I don't blame anybody for accepting stupidly inflated pay.  I do blame those who agree to paying those vastly inflated figures.  I was actually reading today about a footballer who signed a massive deal with a European club and never played a single game.  When he was asked about the situation he apparently said "I don't give a ****, I'm a millionaire now."
