I spotted some recipes for fruit from a fairly well known nursery the other day. They offered these because SM's didn't cater for "small families". The recipes were based on 4 people. Obviously 2 people in a household are deemed to be non existent Â
A ÂŁ20 tracking device you can put anywhere or on anyone to keep tabs on their movement. Companies are selling them knowing the problems they could cause and are working on security fixes afterwards so they don't lose out on the market share in the meantime.
I've just received an email from Vodafone telling me about GPS tracker called Curve. Tracks people, dogs, car keys etc. £15 down instead of £30 and £3 a month subscription. Huh, not having anyone track me thank you very much.
But if a loved one had dementia and was prone to roaming and getting lost, being able to find them before hypothermia had set in would be a life-saver ⊠like so many things, in the right hands itâs wonderful but in the wrong ones itâs horrendous âŠ

Sadly, the simple reality is that people in China, and the Far East in general, are paid far less than those in Europe and the UK. Therefore it is actually cheaper to produce in China and ship half way round the world than to manufacture here.
I've just bought a gtech hand held job. It seems to do the job ok. Unfortunately it has stinky scented cartridges and it doesn't work without them apparently. I really hope the cartridge wears out soon. I wonder if you can buy unscented cartridges or maybe someone on eBay is selling worn out ones. Definitely worth more than the stinky ones.

I always have fun and games trying to work out the measurements for just 2 people. It's not always a question of just halving (or thirding) the ingredients. That's why l like Nigel Slater, a lot of his recipes are just for two. The only time magazines etc do recipes for two is generally around Valentine's Day Delia Smith's "One is fun" cookbook is quite useful.Â
@KT53 I understand that things are cheaper because the Chinese worker is cheap but I very much object to European jobs being exported to countries where working conditions are appalling and not hat far from slavery and the dreadful conditions in UK factories 200 years ago.  We're supposed to have evolved to expect better living and working conditions for all and I don't want to add to the profits of exploitation. For those same reasons I won't buy clothes made in Indian sub continent sweat shops or an electric car dependent on batteries made from minerals extracted using child labour in Africa.
@floralies - I thought M&S France was closed down after Brexit. Will have a look. Thanks. Â
