I heard this on the news earlier and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The world has officially gone mad

As for someone saying their 3 yr old relative was doing it after seeing the ad - what happened to the parenting?
    Sorry, I forgot - that's everyone else's job nowadays.  >:)

Two couples I know.  With one their 9 year old son will eat nothing apart from chicken nuggets, pizza, cheese strings and similar crap.  His parents say he's just a fussy eater.
The other couple have a son about 18 months old who will try anything.  In fact they say they haven't found anything yet that he won't eat.
That's one difference between good and non-existent parenting in my book.

It can come back to bite you tho @KT53.  Possum was weaned on mashed avocado, mashed banana, puréed carrots and so on after spitting out baby rice.  She loved them and all thru childhood tried everything put in front of her - the only child I knew who ate pasta with chilli and tomato or tomatoes and seafood at 3 yrs old and rare steaks at 9yrs old.

Never a chicken nugget darkened our door but she did like Waterzooi and chicken in many forms including curries of various kinds.

What won't she eat now?  Avocadoes, bananas, carrots!

I agree. Mine ate all sorts of stuff as babies/young children. Younger one also ate chilli/curry as a very young child, and I also didn't deny them the things other kids had - like fast food at a party, because they didn't get that at home. That way madness lies... Fast forward a couple of decades - a very different story  ;)

No point getting your knickers in a twist about it either.  :)

My young niece would only eat that horrible ham substitute with a face on it and chips - almost every meal. Eventually she grew up eating normally and now she's got children of her own, they have to have fresh organic stuff etc.

Now me, I grew up with a lifelong hatred of cabbage, cauliflower, basically any brassica due to my grandmother boiling it to death and practically force feeding me. Still don't like it and won't eat it apart from a few sprigs of broccoli occasionally.

.my daughter was weaned in the eggwina curry period. She will eat the white and waste the rest. When you think of it, eating a fried or poached or soft boiled  egg must be pretty gross if you've not introduced to it in childhood.
