I maintain a small shrine to Anoia and I can honestly say that I have been gifted with an almost mystic ability to open stuck drawers and I'm very good at finding lost things. Our religion is also fine with two lads sharing a house and even goes as far as often being slightly jealous that they don't have to put up with women cluttering the place up. All praise the mightly Anoia, Amen (or twomen. We don't care either way).

Respect for others’ religious beliefs is a finer attribute than the mocking of them.

Please do not think for a moment my acerbic barb was directed at you @Songbird-1. Your comment was taken in the light hearted manner in which it was phrased,

Of course if you want people to respect your religious views it's probably best not to spend a couple of thousand years persecuting millions of people for theirs, replacing their religious festivals with ones you've made up that are suspiciously similar and erasing millennia of oral history and tradition just to line your own pockets while pretending you're working on behalf of a God. If any religious person thinks they are worthy of respect then they either don't know the history of their own religion or have a blind eye that even Jesus himself couldn't heal.

I'm fine with individuals have a faith in something, whatever that may be.  My issue is organised religions and their attitude to those who don't follow their version.  Every organised religion seems to have tried its best/worst to eliminate all others at one time or another.

The trouble with the "religious" they won't leave the rest of us alone. We lived very near a big spiritualst church,in the next road, kept coming round, because I was never rude, they went indoors in the end if the back door was open. Also very near the Mormon temple, they were polite, well-mannered Americans, wished you good day and went.  J. witness, one abusive man actually put his foot in my door! Last House near the Scientology's centre. C'on, the got religious status by something invented by a sci-fi writer. A couple of hundred years ago,it was "god fearing" to keep the populus in order, don't behave, you are going to the furry pit. They all say,"believe in God", so a belief, like Father Christmas, the tooth fairy. I did until I was 15,made to go to church as a child.

Apparently furry pits are making a comeback. Modern feminism or lockdown laissez faire depending on who you believe. It's not just for the French anymore.

Show me a religion that is respectful to everyone else and I’ll respect that religion.

Belief in supernatural being(s) is a totally different thing. I wouldn’t knock someone for believing or not believing, it’s nothing to do with me.
