filtered or otherwise, I'm still staggered that are so many stupid enough to think Bojo the Clown is doing a good job and that they trust him.
I agree. I was shocked when my sister-in-law said she wasn't bothered about Bojo and the others ignoring Covid rules, because the vaccine rollout had been done well.
I must be missing something. I still don't see what anyone earns, as being relevant to anything else. Some people earn a lot, some don't, but in general, the more you earn, the more tax you pay, which we all benefit from. Market forces dictate a lot of it too. I expect those highly paid footballers and other sportsmen/women, and pop stars etc pay a fair old bit into the pot, even with clever accountants Lots of wealthy people are idiots, but lots of them are thoroughly decent. Same at the other end of the scale. I've known both in my lifetime. What folk should be paid is certainly not my judgement call, unless it's my money that's funding it [in which case I'm entitled to an opinion] but even then it's an impossible task for anyone to get right.
My curmudge today is a very minor one. My daughter went a rather long, convoluted route to get home from work earlier, because of the location of the road closed signs near us [road is being resurfaced - at last!] and the suggestion that she therefore wouldn't have been able to access our road. It wasn't actually affected, as the closure started just beyond it, but the signs didn't make it clear at all. She isn't amused
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I've just called the local GC to see if they have dahlia tubers in stock: " Yes, but we are waiting for paperwork , because they came from Holland, before we're allowed to put them out for sale " The continuing benefits of Brexit. Deep joy
Went to Lidl this morning and didn't have a coin for a trolley so had to make do with one of those awkward shopping baskets on wheels. It's their loss as I could have bought a lot more things to put in the freezer etc., as it was I could only put in the basket what I could carry.
I've not been to a cashline for yonks, guess I'm now cash free like many others! Though I suppose I could have asked for 'cashback' at the checkout (that's if they do it - for next time I shop). I did have a shopping coin, but I've managed to lose that
Surely there must be a better way in our increasingly cashless society. Tesco which is practically next door have managed to supply coin-free trolleys without a problem.
SinL visited us yesterday, on leaving, on her way out of the door I noticed a £1 coin on the mat, she flew at it mumbling "It's mine"! Blimey this problem is getting serious
Those plastic baskets in wheels are ridiculous. They're impossible to manoeuvre. They're a couple of inches off the ground so you have to bend double to get anything out of them and they're too deep to carry by the handles. It was easier when you had to hunt around for an empty box.
